FARMINGTON – Three Oxford County men were indicted Tuesday on 45 counts each in connection with camp break-ins last spring in northern Franklin County. They also face 18 similar counts in Oxford County.
The Franklin County grand jury indicted Robert L. Adams, 21, of Buckfield, Jason A. Grant, 24, of Buckfield, and Jacob Michael Shoemaker, 22, of Sumner, each on 19 counts of burglary, 10 counts of theft by unauthorized taking and 16 counts of criminal mischief.
The men are accused of burglarizing 18 camps in Dallas Plantation, Coplin Plantation, Rangeley Plantation and Lang Township, and a Rangeley Water District structure in Dallas Plantation in the spring.
The men allegedly stole more than $1,500 in goods and cash, according to the indictments.
Franklin County Assistant District Attorney James Andrews said Tuesday the men are accused of stealing mostly liquor after breaking into camps.
The criminal mischief charges stem mostly from damaging or destroying doors when they broke in, the indictments state.
In Oxford County, the three men have been charged with seven counts of burglary and several theft and criminal mischief charges for breaking into camps in Hartford and Sumner between April 29 and May 21, a district attorney’s office spokeswoman said Tuesday.
