NORWAY – “Across Cultures and Continents; Literature of the Indian Experience” is the title of a “Let’s Talk About It” program at the Norway Memorial Library.
The program is sponsored by the Maine Humanities Council, which provides multiple copies of the books to borrow and a scholar to lead the discussion.
The final program in the four-part series will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21. The book to be read and discussed is “Interpreter of Maladies” by Jhumpa Lahiri, a first book of fiction and the winner of the 2000 Pulitzer Prize. It is a collection of nine short stories that travel from India to America and back again in the lives of immigrants, expatriates and first-generation Americans.
Books may be checked out in advance from the Norway Memorial Library. The public is welcome to participate and to call the library for information at 743-5309.
