AUBURN – Board members and volunteers of the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society will be at the Shaw’s Supermarkets in Lewiston and Auburn on Saturday, Nov. 19, collecting donations of pet food and supplies. Cash donations will also be accepted.

The shelter relies heavily on the donations from the community of food and supplies for the animals. More than 60 pounds of dog food and 40 pounds of cat food are needed daily to feed the nearly 3,600 animals who pass through the shelter’s doors.

Members of the society’s board of directors and volunteers will be at the two stores from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Drop boxes for pet food, supplies and cash donations will be available at both stores until Dec. 24.
