As a military veteran, I would like to thank the Sun Journal editorial writer, David Farmer, for the obviously heartfelt 111-word tribute to the military Nov. 11. The editorial contained some inspiring words for us all.

I would also like to thank the editor for not attempting to use Veterans Day to promote his own political viewpoints. He showed great restraint by only using one reference to the ” great divide on the war in Iraq “

The tribute was located in the bottom left corner of the opinion page, just below the 496-word editorial titled “State goes into hiding on river,” for those who may have missed it.
