Sunday sermon

PARIS – Silver Moore-Leamon will lead the 10 a.m. worship service Sunday, Nov. 20, at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., South Paris. Her sermon will be on “November’s Gifts.”

The music will be under the direction of Forest Perkins, church organist. The Sunday school will be led by Renee Wales. Child care is provided. The coffee hour will follow the service in Good Cheer Hall.

Santa needs help

WATERFORD – Waterford Santa is a new organization that will try to make Christmas brighter for the families who have applied. Applications have been processed and help would be appreciated.

Anyone who would like to shop for gifts to donate should call 583-6677. Those who would rather make a financial donation should send checks to Waterford Santa, P.O. Box 248, Waterford ME 04088. Waterford Santa is a joint community-school-church organization.

Trot off turkey

BRIDGTON – A “Trot Off Your Turkey” community walk will be held Saturday, Nov. 26, at the Bridgton Community Center and the Molly Ockett Middle School in Fryeburg.

Registration will be at 9 a.m. and the start time at 9:30. Healthy Options Together community walks are for all ages and abilities.

Get answers

BRIDGTON – Seniors can get answers and help with the Medicare prescription enrollment at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, at the Bridgton Community Center, 15 Depot St.

A representative of Pinetree Retirement Planning will offer a free seminar about the new Medicare plans. Seniors will need to bring a list of medications or call Pinetree Retirement Planning in advance of the seminar at MEDRX4U (1-866-633-7948).

Santa’s breakfast

OXFORD – Breakfast with Santa will take place starting at 9 a.m. Saturdays, Dec. 10 and 17, at the Oxford Pizza Hut.

Maine singer/songwriter Lynn Deeves will entertain with special holiday music. Santa, will will spend time with each child and read “The Night Before Christmas.”

For reservations, call Wendy Williams at 527-2351. The cost is $6 a person and all proceeds will go to the Rightstart Christmas for Kids and Teens Program.

Coffee House

DIXFIELD – Six local musicians will volunteer their time and talents from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, to help insure that children affected by Hurricane Katrina and Rita wake up Christmas morning with a few gifts.

Dan Hart, principal of Dirigo High School, has agreed for use of the school cafeteria as the venue. Musicians to appear are Paul Lowell, Side by Side, Alan Hutchinson, Derek Blodgett and Charlie Maddaus.

Homemade desserts, gourmet coffees, tea and beverages will be available. Admission is $6 for adults; $3 for children ages 6 to 12; under 6, free. For more information, call 562-4588.
