Well, here I go again. My son got back from Afghanistan a year or so ago. He missed the holidays and the birth of his son, which was on the front page of the Sun Journal. He also lost his marriage, and now, the day after Veterans Day, is on his way to Iraq for 18 months. The day after Veterans Day.
What is it going to be this time? Loss of more holidays, not seeing his son hwo just turned 2. He can’t lose his wife, he’s already lost her. So what’s left for this government to take? Oh, I know – the only thing that is left – his life. Is the government going to take that, too?
When is enough, enough?
I must say, I’m very proud of all veterans today. I feel for their mothers and fathers and what they went through.
I have to feel for both parents – I raised my sons mostly on my own but, trust me, I have enough worry and tears to make up for two parents.
How much do all these soldiers have to lose and go through?
When is this going to stop?
