JAY – An art gallery has opened at The Hairitage House on the East Dixfield Road in North Jay. The building now houses a contracting postal unit, beauty shop and art gallery/gift shop. Owner Marilyn Morse is the postal mistress and a beautician.

Artwork includes acrylic paintings of loons, eagles, moose, lighthouses and a covered bridge. Glass paintings and stemware etchings are available also. Other gift items are available, such as crocheted towels and mittens.

Morse studied art with Barbara Hathaway of Wilton.

The Hairitage House hours are 7:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturdays 7:45 a.m. to noon. For more information, people can call Morse at 645-2910.
