GREENE – Conrad Joseph Bernard, 73, of Greene, passed away at his home on Friday, Nov. 18.

Born in Canada on Feb. 22, 1932, he was the son of Joseph and Marie Gagne Bernard.

He worked many years at the Lewiston Public Works Department. He then retired from Blue Rock Industries in 1998. He came out of retirement to work for the Town of Leeds Recycling Plant, retiring in April of 2005 due to ill health.

He was a life time member Past Time Club.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine G. Bernard Abbott, of Greene; two sons, Mark Bernard of Monmouth, and Steven Bernard of Oklahoma; one daughter, Paula Osborn and husband, Sam, of Oklahoma. He also had three step-children, Ramona Hoener and husband, Mark, of Greene, Mark Labonte and wife, Cathy, of Sabattus, and Darcy Labonte of Lewiston. He leaves 10 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two step- great-grandchildren. Most importantly, he leaves his puppy, Bijou, his faithful companion and friend.

He was predeceased by his parents; his first wife of 31 years who passed away in 1991, the former Irene Theberge; one daughter, Leslie Stasulas who passed away in September 2003.

He will be sadly missed by all.
