MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) – A 23-year-old Manchester man has been charged with trying to rob two men and firing a gunshot into the air on a city street.

Brian Harvey was charged with reckless conduct, robbery and resisting arrest. Police said he led police on a search through downtown alleys and was arrested after a police dog found him and the weapon under a truck.

Police said they saw Harvey accost two men, force them onto the ground and demand beer, jewelry or watches. Police said that after the shot was fired, they gave chase.

In court, Harvey’s lawyer told the judge he was defending himself against an attempted robbery Sunday around 1 a.m. Harvey was ordered held on $50,000 bail.
