The varsity game at homecoming began with a kickoff just shy of fifty yards by Lawrence Pooley of Boothbay rushed past the thirty-yard-line. About one minute and thirty seconds into the game, Tripp took over possession. Tripp later ran for a touch down. The ball was run by Brody Youland, Josh Strickland and Isiah Wright. Tripp was unsuccessful in the two-point conversion. At the end of the first quarter, the game was 6 to 0, Tripp.
Throughout the game, Isiah Wright caused two fumbles and recovered one of them. Boothbay attempted several deep passes and almost all were knocked down by the Tripp defense.
When Tripp received the ball for the second time in the game, the offense ran out of downs and had to punt the football. Boothbay received and almost made it past the fifty-yard line.
Tripp had possession of the ball twice more. Quarterback Shawn Berry led the team to a twenty-two to nothing lead over Boothbay with two more touchdowns and two-point conversions.
After this game, our defense held our opposing teams to six scoreless quarters since we changed our defense. Overall, the team has done well and we hope that Tripp will win the game this week.
