LEWISTON – Mabelle F. Harriman, 96, formerly of Lewiston, passed away with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, Nov. 23.

She was born in Rockport on May 6, 1909, a daughter of the late Francis J. and Sarah I. (Franum) Marcello. Mabelle attended Rockport schools. She married Jesse E. Harriman on Jan. 25, 1925.

She worked for many years at the Auburn Lanes. Mabelle was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, the fish and game association, the Robin Dow Club and the Auburn Bowling League. For several years, she won the state championship for woman’s bowling. Mabelle was also an excellent cook.

She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Herrick and husband, Robert, of Auburn; two sons, Richard Harriman and wife, Mildred, of Lewiston, and David Harriman and wife, Elizabeth, of Mechanic Falls; a daughter-in-law, Beatrice Harriman of Arizona; a brother, Robert Marcello and wife, Cybil, of Georgia; her six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Mabelle was predeceased by her loving husband, Jesse E. Harriman, in December 1997; a son, Gerald Harriman; three sisters, Edith O’Brien, Thelma Young and Ruth Marcello; and a brother, Edward F. Marcello.
