LITCHFIELD – James Edward Connor, 62, of Dennis Hill Road, died Wednesday, Nov. 23, at his home, with his family by his side.

He was born in Lewiston on Dec. 23, 1942, the son of Fred Wallace and Marguerite Eleanor Harlow Connor. Jim was a graduate of Havelock High School, Havelock, N.C., and served in the U.S. Navy.

He worked for the National Granite Bank, Augusta, which became Bank of Maine, then for the Gardiner Water District as office manager and accountant for 28 years. Jim was member and director of Litchfield Farmer’s Club, the J.C. organization in Strong, as well as the J.C. of Augusta, where he was president for one year and state treasurer for four years.

He is survived by his mother, Marguerite E. Connor of Brunswick; his wife, Joan E. Connor of Litchfield; two daughters, Theresa Byras of Litchfield and Patricia MacMullen of Sabattus; one brother, Donald Connor and wife, Sara, of Brunswick; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; one niece; two nephews; two brothers-in-law, Dale Cook and wife, Marlene, and Dana Cook and wife, Nancy, of Litchfield; and several step-nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, Fred W. Connor Jr.; and aunts, Edith Arnold and Louise Harlow.
