BARTLETT, N.H. (AP) – A Barrington man shot himself in the foot Friday as he prepared to go hunting. Authorities say 34-year-old Robert Veno had the muzzle of his gun resting on his foot as he loaded it at his brother’s home in Bartlett.

The state Fish and Game Department and Bartlett police are investigating.

Fish and Game Lt. James Goss said muzzles always should be pointed in a safe direction when loading a gun.
