Fellowship meet

LISBON FALLS – The Lisbon Area Widows Fellowship will meet on Monday, Dec. 5, at the Lisbon United Methodist Church, School Street. The gathering will begin at 11:30 a.m. followed at noon with a potluck lunch.

All interested widows in the area are invited. Those attending are asked to bring food for a Christmas basket.

Club program

LEWISTON – “A More Meaningful Christmas” will be presented by Linda Grant, chaplain of Sisters of Charity Health Care System, at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, at d’Youville Pavilion. A Club 50 event, it will take place in the clubroom.

College planning

LEWISTON – Maine Educational Opportunity Center Adviser Christy Le will lead an “Essentials of College Planning” workshop from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, at the Lewiston CareerCenter, 5 Mollison Way.

Adults considering college are invited to participate in the free college-planning workshop.

MEOC help adult students to overcome class, social, academic and cultural barriers to higher education. Services include assistance in choosing a college, tutoring, personal and financial counseling, career counseling, assistance in applying to college, workplace and college visits and assistance in applying for financial aid. TOPS workshop

AUBURN – Take Off Pounds Sensibly, a weight loss support group, recently held a workshop for local chapters at which time Linda Thorne, Maine TOPS coordinator, presented the program and 15 members were recognized for their weight loss.

An auction of donated items was a success. Scholarship will be awarded so two or more members can attend a retreat. TOPS ME 160 Auburn hosted the program and four from the group received awards for their loss.

The next workshop will be held on March 18 at 70 Hogan Road, Lewiston.
