Craft, bake sale

LEWISTON – The annual Christmas craft and bake sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at Montello Manor/Commons at 540 College St.

Lodge fair

AUBURN – A fair will be sponsored by Fidelity Rebekah Lodge, Liberty Rebekah Lodge and Abou Ben Adhem Odd Fellow Lodge from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Odd Fellows Hall, corner of Elm and Academy streets.

It will include an indoor yard sale, sale of crafts and food. Lunch, with choices of chowders, soups, chili, sandwiches, dessert and beverages, will also be on sale. Tables are available for rental at $10 a table. For more information, call Esther Tucker, 998-5359.

Teddy Bear Fair

GREENE – A Teddy Bear Christmas Fair will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Universalist Church of Greene. There will be crafts, baked goods, gift baskets, Christmas decorations, wreaths, raffles and a white elephant table.

New England Fair

KENTS HILL – A New England Community Christmas Fair will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at Readfield (Torsey) United Methodist Church.

There will be handmade crafts, special holiday foods and baked goods, fudge, a cookie walk, recycled treasures, supervised children’s shopping area. Wreaths, swags and kissing balls will be custom decorated while customers shop. A silent auction of specialty theme baskets will be held.

The third annual display of “50 Years of Lionel Trains” will be a feature of the fair and a luncheon will offer Phyllis Hewett’s fish and corn chowders, chicken salad croissants, pies and a children’s menu.

Boosters fair

LISBON FALLS – The Lisbon High School Boosters Club will hold its annual Christmas craft fair from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at the MTM Community Building, School Street. Admission is free. There will be crafts, food, photos with Santa and a Christmas ornament table for children. Call Linda at 353-9850 for more information.

Churches join

MECHANIC FALLS – Our Lady of Ransom and St. Mary’s churches will hold a Christmas fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at 119 Elm St. There will be food, crafts and wreaths. For table rental, call Josie at 345-3274.

Shaker fair

NEW GLOUCESTER – The annual Shaker Christmas Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village, Route 26.

There will be nine rooms of gifts in the 1816 trustee’s office. Highlights will include a variety of Shaker homemade baked goods and handmade gifts ranging from oval boxes to knitted goods, books, herbs, yarns, antiques, toys, wreaths and a white elephant room.

Holiday event

NEW GLOUCESTER – The 18th annual holiday craft fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Memorial School gym. The event will include refreshments, make-and-take craft projects for children and a raffle table. Proceeds will benefit cultural and educational programs for students. Afghan raffle

RAYMOND – Catherine Berry, a member of the Raymond Village Community Church, found she had a lot of time on her hands when she waited at a Boston hospital for her friend, Neeltje Dunham, who was receiving chemotherapy treatments, so she crocheted. After completing one poinsettia-patterned afghan bedspread for her family, she made a second one for her church.

In memory of her friend who recently died, Berry’s handmade Christmas afghan will be raffled as part of the annual Raymond Village Community Church Holiday Fair from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3.

The fair will also feature a cookie walk, wreaths and greens, handmade items, homemade baked goods, children’s shopping room, fragrances and gift items, handcrafted sterling silver and beaded jewelry, maple syrup and fairly traded gift items from third world countries provided by SERRV. A homemade breakfast and lunch will also be available.

The church is located at 285 Main St.

Church fair

WINTHROP – A Christmas fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Winthrop Congregational Church.

There will be baked foods, Christmas cookies, candy, jellies, crafts, gifts, ornaments, collectibles, jewelry and wreaths.

Silent auction items include certificates and donations from area businesses.

There will be handmade items made by the Mayan women of Guatemala and raffle articles. A noon luncheon will feature fish chowder, lobster salad rolls, hamburgers, hot dogs and veggie lasagna.

The church is handicapped accessible. All proceeds will benefit the church.
