AUBURN – A memorial service and musical tribute for Vesta L. Orr was held Tuesday afternoon from the Memorial Chapel of Dillingham & Son with the Rev. Paul Martz presiding. A memorial gathering at the funeral home was held prior to the service in honor of Vesta with musical medleys on piano by local area musicians, Kathy Haley, Norma Rice Gould, Dana Pelletier, Phil House, Doris Whipple and Mitch Thomas. The musical celebration of Vesta’s life centered around theatrical music which she loved. Those selections being from the Sound of Music; “Do-Re-Mi” sung by 7-year-old Hannah Camden Orr, Vesta’s youngest grandchild; “The Sound of Music” sung by Sandy Simpson; and “Climb Every Mountain” also sung by Sandy Simpson. “Eyes on a Sparrow” sung by Shawna Haley Vaillancourt; and the final song by Sandy Simpson was “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” In conclusion words of remembrance were expressed by Vesta’s son, Patrick as well as Kathy Haley, Shawna Haley Vaillancourt, and Charlene Leclair. The Staff of Dillingham & Son also publically thanked the Orr family for the many years of service their mother had played the organ at their funeral home for area families in grief, giving comfort in their times of loss. A private family burial will be held in Texas. Arrangements by the family-owned Dillingham & Son Memorial Chapel & Tribute Center.
