LEWISTON – Joan Morgan, a journalist, essayist and self-described “hip-hop feminist,” will speak at Bates College at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, in Chase Hall Lounge, 56 Campus Ave.

Her talk on “When Chickenheads Come Home to Roost” will center on her self-identification as a hip-hop feminist.

Raised in the South Bronx, Morgan graduated from Wesleyan University.

A question-and-answer session will follow. Sponsored by the Feminist Action Coalition, the lecture is open to the public at no cost.
