BRUNSWICK – The Bowdoin College men’s basketball team improved to 5-1 for the first time since the 2001-02 season, defeating Colby-Sawyer 68-65 on Thursday evening in Brunswick.

The Polar Bears led by as many as 15 points in the second half and held off a late Charger run to claim their fifth straight victory. Colby-Sawyer drops to 2-2 with the defeat.

Both squads were plagued by foul trouble as a combined 48 fouls were called in the contest. Andrew Hippert and Kevin Bradley led Bowdoin with 15 points apiece. Kyle Petrie had 12 points and nine boards, while Jordan Fliegel collected 11 points. Colby-Sawyer had three players in double figures, led by Pat Kenny’s 15. Andrew St. Clair had 13 points and 11 boards, while Scott Butterworth added 10 off the bench.
