I find the Rev. Douglas Taylor to be really nothing more than entertaining – almost as entertaining as the Harry Potter stories themselves (Nov. 24). I can’t say I don’t care about this “bold stand,” but I can say on my give-a-care meter that it reads pretty low. The only reason I care a little is because I look forward to reading in the paper something rather foolish this person has to say, not so much about any given issue, but about himself.
It seems to me that Taylor has placed himself on a pedestal higher than anyone else and feels he is doing humanity a favor because others are helpless and can’t think for themselves.
I have news for him: When he comes to the light he will understand we are all here of our own free will and accord, and on this soil we have the right to use it and form our own opinions on whatever may present itself to us, and do all of this with respect for the law and others. In the past, I believe Taylor has shown disrespect for both.
He may have his own opinion on any matter, but with true respect for others, and he should do so humbly.
