BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) – A car carrying several University of Bridgeport students crashed over the weekend, killing two of the occupants.

Three others, including the driver, were injured.

Police said Jon Uanserume, of Livingston, N.J., was operating a 1998 Honda at 11:45 p.m. Saturday when it went out of control at the intersection of Prospect Street and Park Avenue. The car traveled off the right side of the road, striking a tree and fence.

Uanserume was seriously injured and was listed in critical condition at St. Vincent’s Hospital. Two others suffered minor injuries.

The passengers killed in the accident were pronounced dead at the scene. Police are withholding their names until their families are notified.
