GRAY – Nationally renowned wildlife artist Persis Weirs was impressed by the mission of the Gallery at the Maine Wildlife Park and she donated some of her wildlife prints to the gallery last summer.

Weirs said she wanted to help the gallery raise funds for its support. Staff sold raffle tickets for Weirs prints at the Oxford Showcase at the end of October and found them popular. Winners included Keith Willoughby of Waterford, image of a mother bear and her cubs called “Playtime,” and Glenn Davis of King’s Hill Inn, an image of an eagle called “River Sentinel.” Those and another, “November Snowfall,” are available for sale.

The Gallery is selling the prints for $125 each. All funds raised will go to support the gallery’s marketing costs. Maine Wildlife Park is owned and operated by the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.
