AARP lunch

PARIS – The Oxford Hills Chapter, AARP, will meet on Monday, Dec. 12, at the First Congregational Church, East Main Street, South Paris. A chicken pie lunch will be served at noon. Reservations are required by calling Henrietta at 743-6722 by noon on Friday, Dec. 9.

It is the annual Christmas party, in lieu of a gift exchange. Donations of canned goods or nonperishables will be collected for the Oxford Hills Food Pantry.

Michaud visit

BETHEL – In an effort to assist constituents throughout the 2nd District, the largest east of the Mississippi, Congressman Michael Michaud has announced community office hours for the Bethel region.

Andrea Quaid, Michaud’s representative, will be available from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, at the Bethel Town Office.

Sunday services

NORWAY – The Sunday services for December at the First Universalist Church, Unitarian Universalist, 479 Main St., will be at 11 a.m. Joe Perham will speak on Dec. 11 and Bob Rice on Dec. 18.

Child care will be provided as well as a religious education program for children. Choir practice is at 9:30 a.m. Sundays with Heather Pierson, music director. All are invited.

A Christmas Eve service is planned for 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 24. It will be a service of praise and will feature religious music by the choir, led by Pierson. The service will be led by board chairwoman and Bangor Theological Seminary student Bernice Martin.

There will be no service on Sunday, Dec. 25.

Bridge play

NORWAY – The Oxford Hills Bridge Club met Dec. 2 at the Fare Share Commons, Main Street, where a 3 table Howell movement was played.

Finishing first in Flight A were Dick Allen and Woody Mercier; second, Eleanor Griffin and Beverly Pelletier; third, Marta Clements and Nancy Farmer. Finishing first in Flight B were Eleanor Griffin and Bev Pelletier.

The club is open to all bridge players, Play is free to all first-time players; refreshments provided. Game time will be 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at the commons. For more information, call Les Buzzell at 783-4153 or cell 754-9153.
