PARIS – The Tally-Ho Horse Club members have been on two field trips during the 35th year – one to Mishawaum Farm, a paint horse breeding farm, and the other to Hemphills for some conformation work.

Four-H’ers participated at fitting and showmanship clinics at Pineland and for a round robin of state equine events.

Three members tried out for Eastern States, with Colleen Slattery making the team. Members had a three-day camp, riding meetings and business meetings. To finish the year, they attended the equine affair in November.

Bethany Bennett competed at a Class A jumping show; Colleen Slattery and Valeri Lynch made the State Horse Bowl team; and Mackenzie White, Abby LeBlanc and Ian Llejonhud got off the leadline.

Caitlyn Walker and Navaho showed for the first time at the Oxford Fair 4-H Horse Show. Jocelyn Britton made World’s for barrel racing, and Colleen Slattery and Cruz have been in the champion ribbons at Ellis River Riders and did well at Eastern States.

Tally Ho is a county club and has some openings for the 4-H year. Showing is not necessary. Anyone interested should contact Kate Slattery, leader, at slattery@megalink.net or call 836-3217.
