As we were driving down the long black road on our way to Mt. Ararat High School my stomach was tilled with butterflies. My best friend was by my side and we were ready to play basketball.

It was a summer basketball game “We had been practicing really hard for the past month because we went to EL basketball camp and we also went to Hoop Camp; I was exited to have the high school varsity basketball coach coaching me. As soon as we pulled in I knew this was going to be a great game.

As I got closer to the gym I could feel the anticipation building up inside of me. When we walked into the gym the younger kids were getting ready for their game, which was right before ours. When we were watching their game it was exiting to see the kids trying to get the ball and also trying to learn the game at basketball. They were like young horses trying to learn how to jump over the hurdles.

It was game time and we were ready to start. Unfortunately we only had three players so we had to have two of the other team’s players, and they were going to switch every quarter, and Danielle, Emily, and I were going to play the whole game.

I knew when we started that we were going to be running a lot. We sounded like a giant heard of elephants running away from their predator. I was posting up and Emily passed me the ball so I tried to decide if I wanted to do one ot the moves that we had learned in practice, so I went for it. If turns out that I did the Makayal move on a girl that was filling in for a muck larger girl. After I did that move the crowd cheered but I couldn’t hear them because I was all caught up in the excitement. Not long after my Makayal move, I made this great jump shot. Jump shots are something that I have to work hard at. But on this day they came easy. At the next timeout my coach said that he was proud of me. That made me feels like I was on top of the world!

That was probably one of the better games that I’ve played. As soon as I got home I told my Mom about my game, she was so proud of me, just like she always is with everything I do. I was exited to tell her because it was one of my greater accomplishments and I wanted to share it with her.

I still remember the rush of excitement that flew through my body once had made that move. I was so proud of myself and all The camps diid practicing paid off. That was a very memorable game, and I will always, rememberd the feeling when 1 did that move.
