DURHAM – There will be a special town meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Durham fire station to act on a single-article town meeting warrant. Other than choosing a moderator, the only item of business is a proposal to adopt a new, updated building code for the town of Durham.

In order to maintain the town’s current rating with fire insurance companies, the town has to upgrade its building code.

Although the town already has a building code, an updated version is necessary, said Administrative Assistant John White. The new version contains no increases in fees, White said.
