POLAND – A woman was in critical condition at a Lewiston hospital Thursday night after an early morning crash on Lewiston Junction Road.

Police said 42-year-old Lori Sleeper of Poland was listed in critical condition at Central Maine Medical Center with various injuries suffered in the 3:30 a.m. wreck.

Sleeper was driving on Lewiston Junction Road when she lost control of her car and slammed into a utility pole, causing the vehicle to flip over, police said.

Sleeper suffered multiple injuries in the early morning wreck and police consider those injuries life-threatening.

By Thursday night, an Androscoggin County Sheriff’s deputy was at Central Maine Medical Center as he followed up his investigation.

It remained unclear what caused Sleeper to lose control of her Toyota Camry, police said.

Sheriff’s officials said the investigation was expected to continue into the weekend.
