COLEBROOK, N.H. – Elaine A. Moody Barnett, 52, of Wilsons Mills, passed away tragically on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook, N.H., following an accident on Mountain Pond Road in Errol, N.H.

She was born June 7, 1953, in Rumford, daughter of Robert and Hazel L. (Olson) Moody. She graduated from Rangeley High School in 1971 and later married Edward Barnett.

She served as postmaster in Wilsons Mills for approximately six years, until the post office closed. She was also a homemaker and raised her family while working for a museum in Rangeley. For the past eight years, she worked for the Lake Umbagog National Wildlife Refuge.

Her interests included photography, hiking the Maine mountains, kayaking, making maple syrup, boating, vacationing off the coast of Maine and fly fishing. Her greatest joy was caring for her family and being a grandmother to her grandson, Tyler. She will be forever remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

She is survived by her loving husband, Edward Barnett of Wilsons Mills; two children, Molly Barter and husband, Jason, of Boothbay, and Timothy Barnett of Wilsons Mills; her mother, Hazel L. Moody of Wilsons Mills; two sisters, Louise Cote of Errol, N.H., and Lorraine Turner of Wentworth Location, N.H.; a grandson, Tyler Barter of Boothbay; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her father, Robert Moody.
