CAMDEN (AP) – State police have released the name of a young man whose body was found Wednesday off a beach in Camden.

Jay St. Peter, 28, of Caribou, was found by residents along a beach off Sherman Point Road. Authorities are hoping one of his friends will contact police with information about why he was in Camden, Maine State Police spokesman Steve McCausland said Friday.

Detectives said there’s no indication of foul play. The state medical examiner’s office is conducting additional tests to help determine the cause of death.
