I love stuff! Funky bowls, cool stationery, an unbelievably fabulous tailored 40s-style wool coat from the French Connection. Oh Joy! It’s the name of a hip blog and is exactly how I felt when I logged onto it (http://ohjoy.blogs.com/).

The blog by an unidentified graphic designer from Philadelphia features random findings of design, style and other cool things, along with other musings. It’s packed with visuals – photos of the cool holiday cards Oh Joy has designed, black and white photos of her cat, product shots of cool stuff.

Oh Joy has a definite audience: in her own words, “you love design, fashion, and crafty things.” And she aims to please. Recent entries have included interviews with designers who have made their mark on the business and design world, including Jackie Shapiro of French Bull (http://frenchbull.com/frgrou.html).

The site also includes a cool book of the week (recently “Flea Market Baby”), cool discovery of the week (cool new clothing site Stella Neptune, http://www.stellaneptune.com/default.asp) and inspirations of the week (high-contrast, grainy, black and white photos).

THE BEST: “I love it when I can find use for a previous design that I never got to use. I drew up a mini floral for our Save-the-Dates, but it got nixed when my fiance thought it was too girly for him. I shrugged my shoulders and knew I’d find a way to use my mini florals somehow … and voila … Holiday Cards 2005!”

THE WORST: No worst, I’m feeling the joy here.

ULTIMATELY: If you are at all into design and fun stuff, check it out. The fabulous coat, btw, is available online at www.fcukbuymail.com.
