LEWISTON – Roland and Louise Nadeau, formerly of Lewiston, of Long Lake at St. Agatha in the summer, and Bonita Springs, Fla., in the winter, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
The event was held at Lakeview Restaurant in St. Agatha. Mr. Nadeau presented his wife with a specially-designed diamond ring, signifying their 50-year union.
Mr. Nadeau and the former Louise Couillard were married on Aug. 6, 1955, at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Lewiston. They have four daughters, Suzanne, Diane, Jeanne and Lauriane, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Nadeau worked as a housekeeper for many years and was working at Heartland Restaurant when she retired in 1996.
Mr. Nadeau worked for the U.S. Postal Service at the Lewiston branch until his retirement, also in 1996.
The couple enjoys retirement by spending summers at Long Lake in St. Agatha and winters in Bonita Springs, Fla.
