FARMINGTON – Julia E. Mosher, 97, of Farmington, passed away at her home on Sunday, Dec. 11, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Farmington on Nov. 30, 1908, the daughter of Alfred S. and Mabel J. (Hardy) Newell. She was educated in the schools of Farmington, graduating in 1926.

She married Hermon Lidstone on June 18, 1927, and he passed away in December 1957. She later married Emil Mosher on March 29, 1969, and he passed away in 1994.

She worked for Knowlton & McLeary, E.K. Day Clothing Store of Farmington and for Franklin Savings Bank for 11 years, before retiring in 1973. She was a member of the Wilson Grange, Helen Davis Philathia class of the Henderson Memorial Baptist Church, Rebekah’s Lodge 84 of Farmington and the East Wilton Extension.

She enjoyed hunting, fishing, knitting and crocheting, sometimes all in the same day.

Survivors include two daughters, Jean Arena of Farmington, and Jane Seavey and her husband, Donald, of New Gloucester; eight grandchildren, Susan, Chris, Tim, Joline, Todd, Jeff, Chris and Terry; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two husbands; and a son, Richard Lidstone.
