NEW GLOUCESTER – Derek Everett ” Mr. D” Rosengren, 19, of New Gloucester, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday morning, Dec. 13, after a valiant battle with a lifelong illness.
He was born April 14 , 1986, in Portland, the son of Dale and Lynda Rosengren. Derek graduated from high school on July 17 with a big celebration of his life and accomplishments, attended by many admirers at New Gloucester Bible Church.
Mr. “D” enjoyed life to the fullest. He was a great fan of sports, especially hockey, bull riding, baseball and especially Christian concerts. He was always thrilled to be with friends and family.
He loved to ride in his van to see people and places and things. His bright eyes and irresistible smile would melt the hearts of all who encountered him. To know him was to love him.
Derek is survived by his parents, Dale and Lynda Rosengren; grandparents, Don and Edna Rosengren, Roland and Joyce Morin, Ronald and Barbara Granholm; great-grandfather, Charles Blodgett; uncles, Paul and Eric; aunts, Kim and Sherri; and many cousins. He will be sadly missed by his many friends, and by his best friend and companion, his service dog, Gen.
