STRONG – Strong Nursing Home has just named Dawn Coolong as Employee of the Month. She was recognized for her exceptional caring and patience with the residents.
Coolong works well with people with developmental disabilities and helps them achieve their learning goals. She is a CNA as well as a developmental trainer on the day shift. It is her responsibility to teach the direct care staff how to complete the rehabilitation training plans that teach the residents to be more independent.
Coolong lives in Strong and as a hobby raises Shih Tzus. The residents enjoy visits with her puppies.
Coolong said the residents are what it is all about. Her enjoyment of their company and the challenge of their learning skills are what has kept her going to work for more than 14 years.
