GRAY – The Fiddlehead Center for the Arts is celebrating with Esperanza, a 10-piece Latin salsa band Friday, Jan. 13, at the Spring Meadows Golf Club.
“We are celebrating our fourth birthday and want all of you to celebrate with us,” said Jacinda Cotton-Castro, co-founder and Spanish teacher at the Fiddlehead Center. “I think it is only appropriate that we celebrate with a Latin band since we now teach Spanish to 58 students from ages 3 to 63.”
She said people who purchase tickets between now and Dec. 21 will get a free $20 gift certificate to be used toward a winter adult-enrichment class.
The Fiddlehead Center for the Arts has expanded its programs to Scarborough in early education programs for ages 3 to 5 and after-school private music lessons. At its New Gloucester location, the arts center is offering new adult classes, including clay-making for beginner and intermediate levels; dance offerings from Africa, India and other parts of the world; Latin dance for singles and couples; yoga; t’ai chi; drumming; oil painting and watercolor for all levels; and Spanish for the beginner and intermediate levels.
Tickets for the Jan. 13 celebration are available at Fiddlehead Center, 688-2244, or online at www.fiddleheadcenter.org under events.
Fiesta tickets, $35, include a one-hour salsa lesson (7 to 8 p.m.); the Esperanza Band (8 to 11:30 p.m.) and a Mexican buffet.
