LEWISTON – The YWCA of Central Maine is beginning registration for winter 2006 swim lessons, which are offered Monday through Thursday mornings, afternoons and evenings and Saturday mornings. Classes are available for all abilities and ages 6 months to adult. They may be a half hour or an hour, depending on level.

Sessions will begin on Jan. 3 and run for six or seven weeks. The cost is $55 for six weeks and $60 for seven weeks.

Participants must be members of the YWCA. Membership is good for a year and includes free swims and other discounted program fees. Fees are child, up to age 12, $30; youth ages 13 to 17, $40; adults ages 18 to 59, $55; and senior citizen, age 60+, $45.

Private swim lessons are also available by appointment. The cost is $25 a half-hour session. Participants must be members of the YWCA. To book a lesson, call the YWCA.

Adult swim lessons will be offered from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Fridays for six weeks. The cost is $75. Participants must be members of the YWCA. For more information or to register, call 795-4050 or visit the YWCA at 130 East Ave.
