PRINCETON, N.J. – Madeline Vaughan Phillips, 86, formerly of Lewiston and Norway, died Dec. 15.

She was born on May 29, 1919, in Lewiston, the daughter of William J and Clara (Perreault) Vaughan.

She is survived by a son and his wife, James and Rita Phillips of Bangor; a daughter and her husband, Jeffry and Leslie Cook of Kendall Park, N.J.; three granddaughters, Megan Phillips of Valley Village Calif., Leigh Phillips of South Portland, and Robin Cook of Conshohochen, Pa.; a sister, Barbara Goff of Auburn; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; six brothers and sisters; and her husband of 45 years, James A. Phillips.
