AUGUSTA – Reginald H. Bubier Jr., 72, of Farmington, died Thursday, Dec. 15, at the Togus VA Medical Center.

He was born in Phillips on May 4, 1933, the son of Reginald and Eunice (Landers) Bubier Sr. He attended schools in Phillips until he entered the U.S. Army in 1950 to defend his country in Korea.

In October 1953, he married his high school sweetheart Yoland A. Voter in Phillips. He regarded her as the prettiest girl in class.

Reginald worked as a barber for many years at Black’s Barber Shop in Farmington; he lost interest in this career in the 1970s, as the hairstyles were changing.

“Reg,” as his friends called him, was an avid outdoorsman, serving as a Maine guide and sharing his love of hunting and the outdoors with many others. His other interests included reading everything he could, but especially books on history or poetry. He also enjoyed gardening, watching baseball and sitting at the kitchen table playing cribbage with friends for hours. For these and many other things, he will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Yoland; two daughters, Roxann Bubier of Phillips, and Laurie Roberge and her husband, Tom, of Sanford; two sons, Scot C. Bubier and his wife, Bonita, of Farmington, and Jon Bubier and his wife, Lois, of Farmington; seven grandchildren, Amie, Kylie, Ryan, Laura-Beth, Amanda, Brent and Lindsay; three great-grandchildren, Josiah, Isiah and Addaliah; two sisters, Pearl Robinson and her husband, Fred, of Chester, Conn., and Joanie Eustis and her husband, Todd, of Phillips; two brothers, Jack Bubier and Paul Bubier and his wife, Marie, all of Phillips; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
