LEWISTON – William J. Parker Sr., 85, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 15, at his home.
Born in Lewiston on Feb. 14, 1920, he was the son of William Francis and Elizabeth McKenna Parker.
He was married for 56 years to Cecilia Nezol, who passed away in 2002.
He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, the Knights of Columbus, Elks Club, the VFW, and the Polish/American Society.
He loved to golf and fish.
He was an accountant for the state of Maine in the Department of Human Services, retiring in 1985.
He was a World War II veteran in the Army Air Corps, serving in the Solomon Islands in the South Pacific.
He is survived by two sons, William J. Parker Jr. and his wife, Laura, of Lewiston, and James Parker of Abbot Village; a daughter, Dorothy H. Drouin of Greene; five grandchildren, Amy Gross, Matthew Harkins, Joel Parker, Elizabeth Parker and William J. Parker III; and two great-grandchildren, Owen and Olivia Gross.
