AUBURN – David Moorhead, Lewiston Public Library children’s librarian, visited Temple Shalom Preschool with his dog-puppet, Thurston Howl, recently.

Moorhead jokingly said, “My visits are intended to plant seeds so that children will whine, cry and throw fits to be taken to the library.”

“We really enjoy his coming to see us every year,” said Claudette Turcotte, long-time teacher of the social skills-based preschool. “He brings a lot of energy and enthusiasm about the wonderful topic of reading books. The children become so excited about visiting the library after he and Thurston Howl have worked their magic.”

The preschool encourages reading and storytelling with children in a fun and interactive way. For more information about the preschool, which is open to children of all faiths and cultures, call 786-4201.
