AUBURN – Conrad H. Rodrigue, 85, of Auburn, passed away Saturday morning, Dec. 17, after a long illness.

He was born in St. Prosper, Quebec, on Sept. 15, 1920, the son of Albert and Delvina Poulin Rodrigue. He grew up in the St. Prosper area and attended St. Prosper schools.

He was a woodsman for Great Northern Co. in Canada for several years. He owned and operated the family farm and, along with his wife, he owned and operated a tailoring business.

On Aug. 12, 1944, he married Mariette F. Champagne. They raised six children. In 1955, they moved to Maine. He then also worked as a woodsman for Howard Ripley of North Raymond for 17 years.

Conrad was a member of Holy Family Parish and the Holy Family Parish Senior Citizens. He was also a member of La Rancontre, a former member of the Knights of Columbus and a eucharistic minister for the St. Louis Parish. He was deeply spiritual and very devoted to our Blessed Mother. He was a very loyal and dedicated husband, father and grandfather, who was always there in time of need. He loved music and enjoyed singing at family gatherings.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mariette F. Champagne Rodrigue of Auburn; two daughters, Renee Bosse and her husband, Richard, of Wales, and Nancy Mennealy and her husband, Stephen, of Lewiston; four sons, Guy Rodrigue and his wife, Nicole, of Lewiston, Andre Rodrigue of Sherbrooke, Quebec, Roger Rodrigue and his companion, Brenda Williams, of Oxford, and Jacques Rodrigue and his wife, Margaret, of Oxford; three sisters, Grace LaFlamme of Lewiston, Isabelle Arbour of Augusta and Sister Marie Rodrigue, O.P. of Quebec City; 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Christiane Menard; four brothers, Odina, Eudore, Gerard and Roland; and four sisters, Juliette, Ida, Irene and Florida.
