My dog Max is the best. You could not ask for a better dog. He loves to play but he also loves to sleep. When you start to play with him he will not stop at anything. “Ouch Max-don’t bite.”
Playing with Max is always fun. Although he is still a puppy he is really rough. But when he is sleeping it is just plain boring. He is just so cute, sleeping or not.
“DING!” There goes the doorbell and right behind it is Max. If he hears the doorbell he runs to it. Even if he is upstairs sleeping he will find a way out of my parents’ room. When someone walks through that door he wags his tail like there is no tomorrow.
Max is a Boxer. Most Boxers are brown with white on the paws or neck but Max is unlike other Boxers. He is white with little black dots all over. Some people think he is a cross between a Bulldog and a Dalmatian.
The only thing that stinks about having a dog is that we never get to go out as a family anymore. Someone has to stay home and watch him. It’s usually me. Max is still a puppy and he doesn’t like to be left alone. If my mom leaves for one second he will whine and whine and whine. At my mom’s work it’s bark and bark and bark.
There are many dogs at my mom’s work. Everywhere you go there’s a Black lab. The owners who work there just let their dogs go and run around. The dogs go and do whatever they want. My mom works at Handy Boat, which is a marina. It is right on the ocean so all the dogs go swimming except for Max, he hates water.
Max hates taking baths. It is kind of funny watching him in the tub. One time I gave him a bath and he jumped right on my lap. I was soaked. When we give him a bath it is usually after dinner.
When it comes to dinner it is all about eating to Max. If you go to pet him he will look at your hand and if there is no food in it he will duck his head. If someone at the table does not give him food he will just go to somebody else.
Having a dog is always fun. There is always someone to play with when your’s bored and knowing he loves me, I love Max a lot. You could not ask for a better dog.
