AUBURN – An Auburn man was transported to Central Maine Medical Center after an accident on Riverside Drive early Monday.

According to a police report, Shawn Brown, 20, of Auburn was traveling on Riverside Drive at 6:36 a.m. when he fell asleep at the wheel of his 1999 Dodge sedan. The report states that Brown’s sedan crossed the center line and collided with a 2004 GMC truck driven by Christian Andreasen, 36, of Freeport.

Damage to Brown’s vehicle was estimated at $5,000; to Andreasen’s truck, $22,000.

Andreasen refused medical treatment at the scene, according to the police report.

Brown was transported to the hospital, where he was listed in stable condition Wednesday night.
