LEWISTON – Robert J. Blodgett, 56, of 58 Old Greene Road, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 21, at Central Maine Medical Center.
He was born on Dec. 31, 1948, in Lewiston, the son of Paul and Catherine Blodgett. Raised in Livermore Falls, he graduated from high school in 1967. He served his country in the U.S. Army, including a tour in Vietnam. He graduated from Plus Gray School of Business in 1972.
Bob worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 25 years, retiring in 1997. During his career there, he proudly served as a labor representative, including a two-year term as president of the local chapter of the NALC. His last five years of service were as a supervisor of customer services in both Lewiston and Auburn.
He was associated with the A.A. program and the Twelve Hour Club for several years, serving on the board of directors and volunteering there on a regular basis.
He is survived by two brothers, Steve and Bill of Livermore Falls; a sister, Judy of Jay; his daughter, Terra, who was his pride and joy, of Jay; his stepson, Philip J. Stevens of Auburn; and his significant other, Sandra E. Keith of Lewiston, with whom he shared the last four years.
