Knitting guild

PARIS – The Western Maine Knitting Guild will meet at the First Congregational Church, 17 East Main St., South Paris, from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Jan. 3. Those interested in knitting are welcome to attend. For more information, call Midge Leighton at 743-7677.

First baby watch

BRIDGTON – A long-standing tradition at Bridgton Hospital is to honor the first baby born at the hospital in the New Year by showering baby and mother with gifts from local merchants. The “First Born 2006” program will start its baby watch at midnight Sunday, Jan. 1.

Merchants interested in being a part of the program are encouraged to contact the community relations and development office at 647-6055.

Annual supper

OXFORD – There will be a fried clam, shrimp, haddock and chicken finger supper from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at the Rock-O-Dundee Rider’s Clubhouse, Paine Road, East Oxford. The dinner will be served with French fries, coleslaw, rolls, a beverage and dessert.

The cost will be as follows: clams, $10; shrimp, $9; haddock, $9; chicken fingers, $7. Combos, children’s plates and takeouts will also be available. That evening those interested may call 890-5602 for takeout orders.

It will be the Rock-O-Dundee Rider’s third annual fried clam supper. The menu will be supplied and cooked by the Lost Gull Restaurant in Welchville.
