FARMINGTON – What happens when your typical Midwestern American family finds its home overrun by a pompous theater critic with an affinity for cockroaches and convicts, just in time for Christmas?

Witness the fallout as the Sandy River Players present George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart’s classic comedy, “The Man Who Came to Dinner,” Jan. 12 to 22 at the University of Maine at Farmington’s Alumni Theater.

Directed by Dan Ryder, the show features a combination of cynicism and sentiment, and mayhem and melodrama, to cap off the holiday season. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Jan. 12, 13, 14, 19, 20 and 21, with a 2 p.m. matinee Jan. 22. Tickets are $10 for adults; $8.50 for seniors and students; $5 for UMF students, with I.D. Special Thursday night discount tickets are available. Advance tickets are available at Howard’s Rexall in downtown Farmington.
