Letters to the editor continue to appear in the Sun Journal referring to the unsightliness of wind farms. Last February, as my husband and I drove with a daughter and our new grandson from eastern California to Los Angeles, we observed many windmills.
We spent the night at a motel, and at breakfast the next day, a young man recognized our daughter as a classmate from high school. He described his maintenance work for several wind power operations in California. The wind stations, he said, make enough electricity to power the city of San Francisco.
Later, driving through the mountains, we marveled at the numerous windmills. We noted that they blend into the terrain inconspicuously, even better than box stores.
