LEWISTON – A 40-year-old Union Street business hopes to get new digs soon.
Able Power Rooter Service has submitted plans for a new warehouse and office to the city’s Planning Board. The drain cleaning business wants to build a 7,500-square-foot facility at 36 South Lisbon Road, near the South Lewiston Baptist Church.
“We hope to start building this year,” said Roland Laverdiere, son of owner, Ron.
Laverdiere said the company has lots of equipment such as a truck, power flushes, hot water flushes, hoses and other items that are stored outside now. The warehouse would protect the equipment from the weather and help preserve the thousands of dollars invested in them.
“It would be good to have them inside where it’s warm,” Laverdiere said.
Plans show the building situated on 3.5 acres near Crowley Road. The Planning Board has scheduled the project for review Monday.
