GREENE – Eleanor M. Stevens, 59, a resident of Bull Run Road, Greene, died very unexpectedly, Sunday, Jan. 1, at her home.

She was born Jan. 8, 1946, in Greene, the daughter of Albert G. Stevens Sr. and Hazel M. (Wilkins) Stevens. She was a lifelong resident of Greene, attended Greene Central School and graduated from Monmouth Academy with the Class of 1964.

She placed a high priority on loyalty and dedication to her job at Liberty Mutual Insurance in Lewiston for nearly 35 years, where she made many friends and touched the lives of many people.

She enjoyed and excelled in sewing, knitting and reading, but her greatest love was her family, never missing a birthday or celebration, making certain that all the children had homemade sweaters, mittens and hats for Christmas. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends and all those who she graced with kindness, generosity and patience.

She is survived by a sister, Edna Prince and her husband, Robert, of Ocala, Fla.; five brothers, Albert Stevens Jr. and his wife, Beverly, of Sabattus, Frank Stevens and his wife, Maxine, of Greene, Richard Stevens and his wife, Patricia, of Greene, Robert Stevens and his wife, Beverly, of Sabattus and Clifford (Buzz) Stevens and his wife, Dianne, of Monmouth; and a sister-in-law, Estella (Peggy) Stevens of Leeds. Aunt Eleanor will be greatly missed by her 15 nieces and four nephews, as well as many great- and great-great nieces and nephews.
