AUBURN – An Androscoggin County grand jury indicted a Sabattus man this week on three felonies, including threatening two women with a gun he possessed illegally.

Michael Bailey, 22, was arrested New Year’s Day after Lewiston police chased him in the area of Howe and Shawmut streets into the arms of a fellow officer.

Police found a .22-caliber semi-automatic Ruger pistol on the ground near where he stood.

Bailey was indicted on one count of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and two counts of criminal threatening. He also was indicted on a misdemeanor criminal mischief charge.

At his arraignment Thursday, a judge set bail at $10,000 cash and $30,000 surety. He also was ordered to stay away from the two women he allegedly threatened.
