LEWISTON – Alice Bisson Cloutier, 96, of Lewiston, passed away Thursday, Jan. 5, at d’Youville Pavilion with family by her side.

Born in Lac Drolet, Canada, on Oct. 8, 1909, she was the daughter of Josephat and Alvine Dallaire Bisson. She was a member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul Parish for 63 years. She was educated in Canada and a graduate of the Dale Carnegie Course.

She was a member of Les Dames de Ste. Anne and La Survivance Francaise of which she was honored as Mother of the Year. She and her husband, Reginald, owned and operated Reggie Cloutier’s Supermarket, Twin City Packing, and were co-owners of the Beachwood Hotel in Old Orchard Beach.

She was an accomplished artist, and her hobbies included crochet, macram, knitting, crewel embroidery, and leather crafting until macular degeneration took her eyesight.

She is survived by two sons, Fernand and wife, Lorraine Cloutier, of Lewiston, and Raymond and Lorraine Cloutier, of Old Orchard Beach; two daughters, Jacqueline and husband, W. Paul Deschene, of Lewiston, and Claire Fortin, of Lewiston; a daughter-in-law, Joan and husband, Phil Wills, of N.H.; two brothers, Roger Bisson, of Old Orchard Beach, Lucien Bisson, of California; two sisters, Julienne Touchette, of Lewiston, and Madeline Moreau, of Lewiston; 27 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and four great- great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Reginald, in 1965; a son, Maurice, in 1966; a daughter, Pauline Keefe, in 1996; a grandson, Michael Cloutier, in 2000; Angelique Marie Fortin, in 1963; and a brother, Joseph Bisson, in 1996.
